The next stop after Dingle on our Irish road trip was the bustling town of Killarney a great base for exploring the Ring of Kerry.
Where to stay…
We stayed in the lovely Scotts hotel – Scotts Street, Killarney where we were lucky enough to get a lovely large room! We didn’t eat here but we did enjoy some great Irish music in their outside stage area – lively and great fun!
The theme for this part of our trip was NOT healthy eating! 😉
Vegan Messy Fries
The first dinner we grabbed was at Rob’s Ranch House – 9 Plunkett Street, Killarney. With a Western theme inside, expect to be surrounded by cowboys and horses.
They have a vegan and vegetarian menu and I went for the Vegan Taco Fries, a mix of beans, minced tofu, mixed peppers in a spicy tomato sauce on fries with vegan cheese and vegan Taco sauce. Messy and delicious!
Veggie Pub Food
For Irish music and traditional pub food you can do worse than go to The Shire – Michael Collins Place, Killarney. Their veggie burger can be made vegan by leaving out the coleslaw.
